Layers to Broilers

After countless early mornings and more eggs than we knew what to do with, we decided it was time for a change. Enter broiler chickens. These guys promise all the benefits of hens, but with fewer early wake-up calls and hours packing eggs, and shall we say, more delectable outcomes. Shifting from egg production to broiler chickens means we can still benefit from their soil-improving talents without the constant juggling of eggs. Plus, our pastures still get the love they need without the chemical onslaught needed in conventional agriculture.

Broiler chickens, it turns out, are the what we didn’t know we needed. They’re efficient, low-maintenance, and grow at a pace that would make a weed jealous. It’s a win all around: happy chickens, healthier soil, and a more manageable farming schedule.

So, as we bid farewell to our clucking egg layers, we look forward to the new journey with our broiler chickens. Who knew that “the power of chicken manure” could bring us to this point? Certainly not us, but we’re glad it did.
