Thinking of getting involved as a day volunteer?

 Volunteers picking vegetables

Rosewood Acres hopes to build a thriving community based around great food, beautiful green surroundings, and a passion for life. We can guarantee  it’ll be a worthwhile break from what ever you need a break from!

We are a small mixed farm with a community based approach. We have laying hens that lay delicious eggs, a market garden growing an amazing verity of nutrient dense veg, and an adjacent flower farm that puts a smile on everyones faces as well as a plethora of workshops to inspire and educate other to produce for them selves and others

For a taste of what you will be up to:

build projects.

Tending to the gardens.

Animal husbandry.

Cooking.

Repairs.

composting

And lots more.

Our volunteer days are Wednesdays (mainly market garden based) and Saturday (a bit of what you everything and anything), 9am-4pm. Just bring yourself and appropriate clothing for a farm. We will provide tools and gloves etc.

In return we’ll share with you some great farm-cooked meals! We have a fantastic pizza oven and a never ending array of egg dishes. We also think we are quite good fun, but we’ll let you find out for yourselves.

How to contact us for day volunteering

Our volunteer days are usually Wednesdays and Saturdays. If you are interesting in getting involved, send us an email to contact@rosewoodacres.farm, or WhatsApp us:

  • For general inquiries, contact Sam on 07858 208 985

Interested in our longer term internship and WWOOfing opportunities?

We are also looking for longer term volunteers who are serious about learning about small scale permaculture farming as a career.

The production side of our farm is partly modelled on Ridgedale Permaculture in Sweden where Sam and Tom met. We are in an exciting setup phase with huge potential for learning how this type of farming works. We can give you a training foundation in:

  • Pastured egg layers, with our custom egg mobile
  • A no-dig Market Garden for vegetables and salad
  • Low costs infrastructure set up like commercial kitchens and polytunnels
  • Potentially, pastured broiler chickens with movable coops
  • Administration, planning, and bookkeeping surrounding small farms

In return would be especially interested in anyone with the following skill sets:

  • Marketing, sales, and social media management
  • Those with practical skills
  • Farming
  • Cooking

Ideally, we would be looking for a minimum three month commitment somewhere in mid-season from April through to September 2022. For those willing to make a commitment we can provide basic accommodation. Couples will also be given a preference, but we welcome all applications!

Please also see our WWOOFing page here, and get in touch with Sam through hello@rosewoodacres
